i wonder, if our environment were blown up into a proportion where sky-lines were shaped more gracefully and details of trees functioned with the size of modern day buildings, what it would be like. small cracks between the bark would be the size of a large crack found in the front feature of a cliff and each little dried piece of sap is like a iced-over waterfall. it'd be cool. i think.

lonesome

in franconia, nh looking at the mountain I was supposed to hike today....must have gotten some snow last night because the top bit is covered. re-thinking my hike today since I don't think I have the gear for snow...crazy to think that for the next 7 months of hiking, there will be snow. most people aren't on the trails (because of that) but i sure will be. yesterday hiked a decent elevation into lonesome lake and then beyond up onto the ridge. i really pushed myself for some crazy reason and made great time...feeling refreshingly tired this morning. glad to be back up on the mountains.
